Lloyd Herbert King, Jr. grew up in  Minneapolis, Minnesota where he remembers long days working outside with his father, digging ditches in order to install irrigation systems. Herb's father, Lloyd Sr., was an engineer and patented several irrigation drains that remain the most popular drains in America today.

When Lloyd Sr. retired, Herb purchased a portion of his business and quickly grew it from next to nothing to several millions.

For much of his life, Herb kept the secret that he was gay from most. His late wife, Sally, knew he was gay but agreed to marry him anyway (as they were best friends) and they built a life and family of 5 children together.

Today, Herb is semi-retired and spends his time investing in his new business, Ivani, traveling the world, and supporting various causes. His son, Peter, is the host of this podcast, The PK Experience.
